As the 2025-26 school year kicks off, one name that continues to stand out on the Woods Cross High School volleyball roster is Zamari Christensen, now officially a junior, but already a seasoned presence on the Varsity team.
Last year, as a sophomore, Zamari made a strong impression with her skill, determination, and maturity beyond her age. Stepping into the pivotal role of setter, she not only rose to the challenge but became a key contributor to the team’s success. Her sharp instincts, quick decision-making, and ability to read the game helped her thrive, even against older, more experienced players.

What truly sets Zamari apart, however, isn’t just what she brings to the court on game day. It’s her relentless work ethic behind the scenes. Whether it's extra reps after practice, watching film to improve her game, or encouraging teammates through tough matches, she shows a level of dedication that doesn’t go unnoticed.
Her coach, Coach Hilton, praised her as a “great teammate” and a “hard worker”, highlighting the character and commitment that makes Zamari such a vital part of the team’s culture.
Being a young player on varsity is never easy, but Zamari took every challenge of her sophomore year and turned it into fuel. Now, as a junior, she soon will step into a new season with more experience, more confidence, and even higher expectations from herself, her coaches, and her team.
Volleyball fans should keep an eye on Christensen this season... not just for the incredible sets and smart plays, but for the example she sets as a student-athlete who’s only getting stronger with each passing year.
This upcoming season is hers for the making.
